I was comparing E3 to PS as a host for Ice 1.03. The result from E3 was much nicer. Ice 2 doesn't run from E3. Anyway, a link to the free version of E3.3. I doubt it will run in Vista, but does run in XP.

Sounds like a good idea, but this is a plugin and not an installed program. However, I did run the Compatibility Wizard and, as I suspected, MezzoForce Ice 1.0.3 was not listed in the program list.

I was thinking that maybe if an older Host application could be installed, the plugin might run with it.

For me, I would be interested in maintaining my E3 coloring capability. This was the last version allowing reflection map fills to vector objects. A few other capabilities were removed in the MS version. I also found an unknown capability that I would like to continue using. I may have to stay with XP forever.

Oh, I see what you're saying.

I have kept PSPX on my computer, which is not Vista compatible. I ran the wizard on it and set it to run as it did with XP SP2.

I then opened the program and tried to use MezzoForce Ice 1.0.3, but it still caused the program to freeze and shut down.

Good idea though, wished it had worked.

Here is something in which you might be interested. I was getting some plugins from Xero Graphics and found an article posted about Vista problems due to DEP. See http://www.xero-graphics.co.uk/vista.htm and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875352.

I have disabled DEP and then did not experience any problem with the Xero plugins; however it did not fix the problem with MezzoForce Ice 1.0/3.
